This role is for a Federal Project Manager II focused on Post Go-Live Transition Readiness for Oracle Health/Cerner EHR implementations within a federal healthcare setting. The project manager will manage site-specific project plans, client communication, and coordination of readiness activities to ensure smooth transitions and successful adoption of EHR support by local informatics teams. The role requires extensive travel and experience in healthcare IT, EHR implementation, and project management, with a strong emphasis on Oracle Health/Cerner solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage all communication and relationships between the site and the Oracle Health Readiness Team
  2. Manage the site-specific project plan and timeline and drive local site Informatics to success in preparing them for their roles Post Go-Live
  3. Present content and drive execution of the Readiness Support Methodology at a local level
  4. Own coordination of the Event Driven methodology with internal and external stakeholders for specified site(s)
  5. Work closely with internal Engagement Management Team on Deployment schedules and events

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, health informatics, business, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical informatics, or EHR implementation/project management
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Health/Cerner solutions, including design, build, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Experience leading site-specific readiness projects related to EHR implementation and transition
  • Ability to track deliverables and align them with Post Go-Live (PGL) Readiness milestones
  • Strong understanding of Event-Driven Methodology (EDM) and transition frameworks
  • Ability to assess current-state processes and provide strategic recommendations for future-state improvements
  • Experience designing, configuring, and implementing Oracle Health/Cerner solutions, including clinical and operational workflows
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve EHR-related issues, collaborating with IT and clinical staff
  • Familiarity with Millennium architecture, PowerChart, Orders, and other Oracle Health/Cerner applications
  • Understanding of system testing, validation, and optimization to enhance user adoption and system performance
  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows, informatics principles, and site readiness requirements
  • Knowledge of VA and Oracle Health (Cerner) policies, contract, EHR governance, and post-go-live expectations
  • Familiarity with EHR data governance, reporting, and compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.)
  • Experience engaging with local site informatics teams, leadership, and Oracle Health workstreams
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative problem-solving between technical, clinical, and operational teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting readiness updates and reports
  • Ability to work across multiple internal and external teams, ensuring alignment and shared objectives

  • Prior experience working in a hospital, healthcare system, or VA environment
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) – if responsible for large-scale project planning
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) – validates informatics expertise
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) – if involved in process improvement
