Flock Safety is seeking a Field Deployment Specialist to support the nationwide deployment of their Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting DFR systems across the U.S., including hardware like cameras and drone docks. It requires extensive travel and a focus on infrastructure deployment rather than drone operation. The ideal candidate has experience in field-based technical roles and a basic understanding of networking and electrical systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Travel to customer sites (up to 100%) to install, maintain, and support DFR systems
  2. Conduct site assessments to confirm power, mounting, connectivity, and access requirements
  3. Install and configure hardware including cameras, drone docks, and supporting infrastructure
  4. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues in the field
  5. Complete installation documentation, including photos, notes, and service records

Skills

Required

  • Experience with drone systems, surveillance technology, or public safety environments
  • Experience in field-based work, such as construction, low-voltage installation, telecommunications, or similar technical environments
  • FAA Part 107 Certification or willingness to obtain within 45 days of hire
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively
  • Familiarity with MacOS, Windows, or Android
  • Experience in a customer-facing field service role
  • Basic understanding of networking, electrical systems, and mechanical assembly
  • Ability to work independently or in small groups while managing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors and at elevated heights (ladders, lifts, rooftops)
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment (75+ lbs)
  • Live within 60 miles of a major airport
