Field Engineer role supporting the Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) portfolio of programs, focusing on training material development, system software documentation, and technical support for fielded systems. Requires an active Secret clearance and involves customer interaction, troubleshooting, and potential travel.

What you'd actually do

  1. Document and communicate system software changes as it correlates to training material
  2. Assist and develop training material for FAAD
  3. Closely interface with software changes in the support of fielded systems in operation
  4. Travel to training events at CONUS and OCONUS locations
  5. Conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives

Skills

Required

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Knowledge of FAAD as an operator
  • Experience in integration, field support, and implementation of communications systems
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Linux, Windows
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during mission critical time periods
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time as needed

Nice to have

  • Experience in computer networking
  • Comp TIA Security+ and A+ Certifications
  • Red Hat Linux+ or similar certification
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and proficiency with Word
  • Military experience desirable, Air Defense MOS experience
  • Experience performing operator and administrative functions on the Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD)
  • Technical writing experience
  • Process orientation and strong skills in using and following documented processes / checklists
  • Knowledge of military command, control, and communication systems
  • Deployment experience in a field technical support role
