Field Engineer role supporting the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) Program, involving on-site technical support, inventory management, customer interaction, system troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication systems. Requires a Secret security clearance and experience with military communication systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the on-site Technical Support during operations and maintenance of a complex airborne and terrestrial tactical communication system
  2. Manage vast inventory of spare parts
  3. Work with government and NG entities on all shipping/receiving requirements.
  4. Work closely with an Active Duty/Government customer as well as internal Northrop Grumman Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  5. Prepare to learn and excel on a small multidisciplinary team responsible for troubleshooting a wide array of military voice and data services

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience (or 6 years experience in lieu of degree)
  • CompTIA Security+ certification within 9 months of employment
  • Experience with operating Military radios or communications systems
  • Experience handling COMSEC materials
  • General knowledge of Linux
  • General knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work flexible shift schedules
  • US citizenship
  • Current/active U.S. Government Secret security clearance

Nice to have

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or greater
  • Hands-on experience with Linux Administration
  • Hands-on experience with networking devices
  • Hands-on experience with operating specific military radios (PRC-117, ARC-210, SADL, MIDS JTRS)
  • Broad experience with military communications systems and radios
  • Strong knowledge with military tactical data links (Link 16, JREAP-C), radios operations, and RF theory
  • Experience with military aircraft operations
