The Field Marketing Manager, Startups will own the field marketing strategy and execution for Anthropic's startup segment in the US. This role involves designing event calendars, building VC partnerships, running founder events, and creating scalable playbooks. The manager will partner with sales teams, establish metrics, and represent Anthropic in the startup ecosystem. This is a 0-1 building role requiring end-to-end ownership and operational rigor.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the US Startups field marketing calendar end-to-end — strategy, planning, execution, and measurement
  2. Build co-marketing partnerships with tier-1 VCs and accelerators (YC, Lightspeed, Accel, a16z, Sequoia and others), including Demo Day activations and portfolio engagement programs
  3. Design and run founder-facing event formats — founder dinners, salons, hackathons, technical workshops, office hours — that build relationships and generate qualified pipeline
  4. Partner closely with Startup Sales and BDRs on pre-event targeting, during-event engagement, and post-event follow-up to convert attention into pipeline
  5. Build operational playbooks (founder dinner kit, Demo Day activation kit, hackathon kit) that the Field Marketing team can scale across regions and segments

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of experience spanning a blend of Field Marketing, Demand Generation, ABM, Events at B2B technology companies, with at least 2 years in Field Marketing
  • Direct startup-segment experience
  • End-to-end ownership of field marketing events and programs, hands on in both strategy and execution
  • Repeat success across multiple companies
  • VC and accelerator ecosystem fluency
  • 0-to-1 builder DNA
  • Tight sales alignment
  • Operational rigor
  • Technical credibility

Nice to have

  • Direct relationships with YC, Lightspeed, Accel, a16z, or Sequoia
  • AI/ML field marketing experience (OpenAI, Cohere, Hugging Face, etc.)
  • Prior tour at an AI-native or developer-tools startup as an operator
  • Speaking, writing, or visible thought leadership in the startup or developer ecosystem
