Field Service Engineer role focused on supporting and servicing electrical power generation and switchgear systems for industrial and commercial customers. Responsibilities include startup, maintenance, testing, repair, and customer training, with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and technical problem-solving within an assigned territory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform startup, preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and advanced electrical services on generator paralleling controls and switchgear systems.
  2. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction across the assigned territory while supporting on-call service needs (75% travel required).
  3. Assist and train internal technicians and external customers on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and equipment testing.
  4. Collaborate with the Product Support Center help desk to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
  5. Support dealer service and sales teams in promoting products and services.

  • Working knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
