This role is for a hands-on Field Service Technician supporting Rivian vehicle repairs, focusing on diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections. It requires proficiency in tools, electrical systems (low and high voltage), chassis, brakes, suspension, and thermal systems, with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform or assist with assigned vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections, whether at a service center or in the field directly at customer homes, businesses, or other convenient locations.
  2. Identify and explain the Rivian product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories.
  3. Utilize available technical resources to follow Rivian repair procedures efficiently without compromising quality or safety.
  4. Conduct road tests to ensure the quality of repairs.
  5. Manage necessary parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.

Skills

Required

  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Proficient with laptops or computers in Windows or Mac environments
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an eagerness to learn
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and speak fluent English
  • Ability to see, read and interpret documents
  • Foundational understanding of basic electricity theory
  • Safely use a DVOM for various circuit measurements
  • Reading and leveraging electrical schematics
  • Understanding the risks involved with high voltage systems
  • Safely power down high voltage systems and work on them using appropriate PPE
  • Proficient in fundamental chassis service
  • Ability to mount and balance tires
  • Perform vehicle alignments

  • Safely handle refrigerant with a 609 certification

  • Diagnose mechanical suspension components
  • Repair advanced vehicle dynamic issues related to traction control, ABS, and power steering
  • Resolve complex drivability concerns such as Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the entire A/C system and its components
