Finance Analyst

Early-career individual contributor supporting cost management, financial analysis, and reporting for the B2B Finance organization at Expedia Group. This role partners with cross-functional teams to track costs, support budgeting and forecasting, and deliver insights that drive efficiency and informed decisions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Supports the cost management cycle including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis
  2. Assists in tracking operating expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities across business functions
  3. Prepares standard cost reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking to support decision-making
  4. Analyzes financial performance and highlights key drivers, risks, and opportunities
  5. Partners with cross-functional teams (Product & Tech, Operations, Marketing, Sales) to understand cost drivers

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • 1–4 years of of relevant professional experience
  • Foundation in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Understanding of financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • Proficiency in Excel (modeling, pivot tables, data analysis)
  • Basic knowledge of cost management and variance analysis
  • Ability to work with large datasets and translate into insights
  • Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Able to interpret data and identify trends, variances, and insights
  • Applies structured thinking to solve problems and support decision-making
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Builds effective working relationships across teams
  • Able to translate financial data into simple, actionable insights
  • Takes accountability for assigned tasks and delivers high-quality work
  • Proactively identifies issues and suggests improvements
  • Manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., Hyperion)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
