Finance Manager for Johnson & Johnson MedTech's Heart Recovery business in Japan, responsible for leading the Japan Commercial Finance agenda, partnering with cross-functional leaders to drive business growth, managing the P&L performance, and providing financial insights and reporting. The role also involves leading the annual budget cycle, identifying risks and opportunities, optimizing spend, and coaching a direct report.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the annual budget cycle and the two planning processes (e.g., mid-year and year-end), engaging functional leaders to develop robust assumptions, scenarios, and timely updates.
  2. Provide valuable, action-oriented reporting and insights to Japan management, including monthly P&L performance tracking, variance analysis, and key drivers.
  3. Identify, quantify, and communicate P&L risks and opportunities; recommend countermeasures to maximize business performance.
  4. Drive investment allocation discussions to optimize spend effectiveness and support growth priorities.
  5. Partner with the Shared Service Center to execute accurate and timely monthly and quarterly close, including accruals, compliance with policies, and reconciliations as required.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or business controlling
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting/forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Experience leading planning cycles and partnering with senior stakeholders across functions
  • Working knowledge of month-end and quarter-end close processes and collaboration with Shared Service/Center of Excellence teams
  • High learning agility, strong ownership, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English (Business-level)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., ERP and planning tools)

Nice to have

  • MBA/CPA/USCPA/CMA a plus
  • Power BI or similar analytics tools preferred

What the JD emphasized
