Financial Analyst role focused on managing R&D program expenses, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for a company in the connected operations cloud space. The role involves collaborating with engineering and product leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Experience with AI tools is a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist in financial planning and analysis by building and maintaining models for forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis for R&D functions.
  2. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to track company performance.
  3. Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results against budgets and forecasts, identifying key drivers.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
  5. Partner with R&D business partners to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements, fostering a collaborative approach to financial management.

Skills

Required

  • 1-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) and their analysis
  • Experience in building automated Excel reports
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and solving financial challenges, with a focus on driving efficiency and cost optimization
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, Cursor, etc.)
  • SQL
  • Databricks
  • BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
  • Proficiency in FP&A tools, such as Workday Adaptive Planning (or similar planning systems), NetSuite
  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally, with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain financial concepts and data to non-financial stakeholders
