Financial Analyst - Level 2 or 3

This role is for a Financial Analyst focused on SOX compliance and internal controls within the space sector of Northrop Grumman. The analyst will design, implement, and evaluate controls, work with auditors, and support financial reporting. It requires experience in audit activities, data analysis, and strong communication skills. The role is not directly involved in AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Evaluate and help to design the operating effectiveness of SOX internal controls and making recommendations for improvement.
  2. Work with external and internal auditors and Corporate SOX PMO to plan and implement assessment of the control environment, coordinating timing and execution of process walk throughs and operating effectiveness testing cycles.
  3. Work with the division and functional teams to perform and monitor SOX internal controls and processes.
  4. Provide general audit support; including document retrieval, review, and research.
  5. Support ongoing monitoring of internal controls and responding to related inquiries.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience (Level 2) or 5+ years (Level 3)
  • Experience in performing and supporting audit activities
  • Data and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance

Nice to have

  • GAAP accounting proficiency and research experience
  • Operational experience with SAP and/or Costpoint in Aerospace / Defense production environments
  • Industry relevant experience in External or Internal Audit, SOX Internal Controls, Risk Management, Accounting and/or Finance experience
  • Public Accounting experience
  • CPA License/CPA Candidate in the near term
  • Experience with SAP and/or HFM
