This role is for a Financial and Resource Analyst on the Core Strategy and Operations team at Google. The primary focus is on managing operational expenditure and headcount, including budget forecasting, variance analysis, and ROI maximization. The role involves translating financial data into actionable recommendations, partnering with cross-functional leads and central finance, and developing materials for stakeholder updates. While familiarity with ML and generative AI concepts is preferred, the core responsibilities are in financial planning, analysis, and program management within a product and business strategy context.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the end-to-end management of operational expenditure and headcount, including baseline tracking, budget forecasting, and variance analysis to maximize Return on Investment (ROI).
  2. Leverage problem solving skills to translate complex financial and resource data into clear, actionable narratives and strategic recommendations for leadership.
  3. Partner closely with cross-functional leads and central finance to align resource allocation with organizational priorities and manage shifting headcount demands.
  4. Own the development of materials for stakeholder updates, including high-impact presentations and summary documents that clearly communicate project status and financial health.
  5. Find and recommend better ways to work so the team can get results more effectively.
