With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and support Android connectivity/better together features for Pixel devices.
- Address a variety of System on Chip (SoCs), and work with partners and vendors.
- Investigate and address the root cause of firmware/software issues.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in coding with a general purpose programming language (e.g., C/C++).
- Experience with Wi-Fi drivers, firmware or framework development.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Android framework development.
- Understanding of IEEE802.11 protocols (including MAC layer, physical concepts, security mechanisms like WPA2/3).
- Understanding of device to device protocols, like Wi-Fi Aware and Wi-Fi direct.
- Familiarity with wireless sniffing and debugging tools (e.g., Wireshark, Omnipeek) for troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues.
