Northrop Grumman is seeking a Flight Test Technician to perform maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and testing of aircraft systems. This role involves working with electrical, electronic, mechanical, or instrumentation systems, troubleshooting, and ensuring conformance with design specifications. The position requires an active US Government clearance and the ability to obtain SAP clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. perform developmental, experimental and production aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and testing tasks in a field of specialization; electrical / electronic, mechanical or instrumentation.
  2. Instructs, coordinates and performs the duties / functions of Flight Test personnel in area(s) of assignment.
  3. Determine the sequence for installing, removing, maintaining, repairing or fabricating critical aircraft components, or electrical / electronic, mechanical or instrumentation systems.
  4. Perform testing, rework and repair in various fields of specialization.
  5. Apply shop theory and skills in accomplishing assigned tasks working from incomplete engineering, electronic data, blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, technical orders and written and verbal instructions.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of related professional/military experience (Level 3) or 6 years (Level 4)
  • Active US Government clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Experience working in a production or test environment
  • Familiar with aspects of systems test
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
  • Ability to work from extended work platforms at elevated heights
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook)
