Chewy is hiring a Food Safety Program Manager - Regulatory Support to manage and improve their food safety program within their Fulfillment Network. This role involves auditing, risk assessment, providing technical guidance on pest control, sanitation, and distribution practices, and ensuring compliance with FDA regulations. The position requires a BS degree in a related technical field, at least 2 years of experience in Food Safety and Quality Control, and PCQI certification.

What you'd actually do

  1. Audit Fulfillment Centers (FC) on a regular cadence and provide direct feedback to the site leadership regarding findings.
  2. Initiate, and propose closure of corrective actions taken.
  3. Provide input for potential preventive and corrective actions to be taken.
  4. Support the development, adherence, and improvement of food safety policies, trainings, and procedures.
  5. Develop, implement, and coordinate training for food safety initiatives, policies, and procedures.

Skills

Required

  • BS in Chemistry, Biology, Food Safety, Food Science, Environmental Engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum of 2+ years in Food Safety and Quality Control in a distribution, warehousing, and/or manufacturing setting.
  • PCQI certified
  • Comprehension and practical application of risk assessments.
  • Ability to analyze and verify record data, corrective measures, and to perform a hazard analysis of both commodity types and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
  • Experience leading change in multiple site environments.
  • Willing to travel up to 50%

Nice to have

  • Advanced MS in Chemistry, Biology, Food Safety, Food Science, Environmental Engineering or related technical field
  • HACCP, SQF/BRC certification

What the JD emphasized

  • Extensive knowledge of FDA regulations and how to apply them, specifically 21 CFR 502, 117, and 1.
  • Must be PCQI certified.
