Ford Racing is seeking a Powertrain & Underbody Systems Engineer to lead the conceptual layout and delivery of new driveline systems from concept to production. This role requires deep knowledge of various powertrain components, active controls, and calibration, with a focus on high-performance, low-volume markets. The engineer will manage program delivery, interface with manufacturing, and provide technical leadership for builds and problem resolution.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the conceptual layout and delivery of a new driveline system
  2. Manage program delivery of quality, cost, weight, function and timing from concept through to production
  3. Coordinate and manage outside engineering and design resources Interface with core technical specialists to ensure delivery of a quality system design
  4. Function as primary technical interface with manufacturing engineering to ensure the system fits with the process and meets commercial needs
  5. Technical management of all interface complexities with neighboring systems

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the development of complete powertrain and underbody systems
  • strong emphasis on high performance applications
  • Proven experience delivering multiple high-performance powertrain and underbody systems from concept and launch through production

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from conception to completion, meeting tight deadlines and budgetary constraints
  • Significant experience working directly with manufacturing facilities, including successful resolution of complex production and quality issues in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey tough technical issues to non-technical stakeholders effectively
