Forward Deployed Engineer, Infrastructure Specialist (public Sector)

Cohere is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer, Infrastructure Specialist to partner with Canadian public sector organizations to deploy and integrate Cohere's North AI workspace platform. This role involves leading end-to-end deployments in private cloud and on-premises environments, assessing infrastructure and security requirements, and ensuring compliance with data privacy standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise software deployment, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and a strong understanding of Canadian public sector security and compliance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-premises environments, including planning, configuration, testing, and rollout.
  2. Partner with enterprise IT teams to assess infrastructure, security requirements, and data management practices.
  3. Experiment at a high velocity and with a high level of quality to engage our customers and ultimately deliver solutions that exceed their expectations
  4. Design and implement deployment strategies tailored to client needs, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve deployment-related technical issues, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.

Skills

Required

  • Experience deploying enterprise software in private/hybrid cloud environments
  • Proven experience administering production Kubernetes clusters and expertise with Helm
  • Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP), networking, and virtualization
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Git for version control
  • Experience with customer-facing roles and direct customer interaction

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Canadian public sector security and compliance requirements (e.g., data sovereignty, access controls)
  • Experience with agent development and deployments
