Forward Deployed Software Engineer

This role is for a Forward Deployed Software Engineer at an AI Customer Agent company. The engineer will work directly with strategic customers to understand their needs, design and deliver AI solutions using the company's AI Agent (Fin), and provide feedback to R&D and Product teams. The role involves hands-on coding, technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to the evolution of the Forward Deployed Engineering function. It focuses on driving adoption and ensuring successful implementation of AI capabilities in customer support operations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive adoption of Fin by helping prospects unlock the power of Fin's AI capabilities to automate and scale their support operations
  2. Embed deeply with strategic customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements, and provide the insight needed to achieve outstanding results with Fin
  3. Work hands-on with customers’ technical teams as a trusted technical expert, coding side-by-side to drive projects through to completion
  4. Collaborate closely with Sales, Success, and Product teams to ensure seamless customer experiences, successful project delivery, and actionable product feedback
  5. Contribute to the evolution of the Forward Deployed Software Engineering function by codifying best practices and sharing insights from customer engagements to help the team scale and grow

Skills

Required

  • Strong engineering background (Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics preferred)
  • Experience building a SaaS product with real-world usage
  • Interest in AI/ML and ability to quickly understand novel problems, capabilities, and architectures
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Ruby)
  • Ability to prototype and ship software quickly with a focus on quality and business goals
  • Proficiency in using and writing REST APIs
  • Strong communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers
