Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with government clients to identify critical problems and build data-driven solutions using Palantir's platforms. This role involves end-to-end project execution, from understanding client needs to coding custom applications and managing large-scale data.

What you'd actually do

  1. Identify clients' most critical problems and build solutions that leverage their data to address them.
  2. Apply problem-solving ability, creativity, and technical skills to help organizations best leverage their data to make a real-world impact.
  3. Work in small teams with minimal supervision and be responsible for end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
  4. Discuss architecture with other engineers, manage large-scale data, code a custom web application, discuss with client leadership, or strategize for your team.
  5. Learn new technologies and languages, and potentially develop them yourself.

Skills

Required

  • Strong engineering background (Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Physics preferred)
  • Highly analytical mindset
  • Proven ability to solve technical problems related to data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools
  • Excellent coder with proven skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript or similar
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to learn continuously, work independently, and take initiative with minimal supervision
  • French fluency
  • French nationality

Nice to have

  • Experience or interest in working with and using large-scale data to solve important business problems
  • Willingness and interest to travel to client sites as needed (25-50% travel preferred)
