Forward Deployed Strategist

Cursor Cursor · Coding AI · San Francisco, CA · Solutions

This role focuses on customer-facing strategy and deployment for AI-native workflows, specifically agentic coding and LLMs. The Strategist partners with executive sponsors to scope and shape projects, works hands-on with the configuration layer of AI platforms, and ensures successful adoption and business outcomes. The role requires strong technical understanding of LLMs and agentic systems, combined with executive presence and project delivery ownership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with customer executive sponsors to scope FDE projects — translating ambiguous business problems into concrete, time-boxed deliverables with clear ROI
  2. Work side by side with the FDE on the technical build — you own the configuration layer including workflows, settings, integrations, and platform tooling that don't require heavy custom code while the FDE owns the deeper production builds
  3. Own technical enablement and adoption: run hands-on training, build playbooks and reference workflows, and coach the customer's team until they're self-sufficient.
  4. Establish and maintain the executive relationship on your engagements, serving as the primary point of contact from kickoff through handoff
  5. Escalate product gaps, integration friction, and recurring customer pain back to Product and Engineering with enough specificity to drive roadmap decisions
