Foundry Customer Npi Integration Engineer

Intel Intel · Semiconductors · Arizona, Phoenix, United States

This role is for a Foundry Customer NPI Integration Engineer at Intel, focusing on managing the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for foundry customers. The engineer will ensure timely and high-quality delivery of silicon, optimize processes, manage schedules, assess risks, and collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve issues and improve yield. A critical responsibility is to identify recurring patterns, abstract learnings into foundry standards, and automate/proliferate best practices across technologies and customers. The role requires strong project management and problem-solving skills within the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own end-to-end NPI (New Product Introduction) execution from customer technology enablement and tape-out support through HVM (high-volume manufacturing) readiness, and perform product-specific process optimizations to meet foundry customers' specifications.
  2. Manage NPI schedules, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring on time readiness for customer builds and production ramps.
  3. Ensure readiness of process flows, controls, and monitors, including SPC/FDC strategies, inline metrics, test structures, and SORT programs.
  4. Own NPI risk assessment and escalation, proactively identifying yield, reliability, and schedule risks and aligning mitigation plans with stakeholders.
  5. Work with MDCE/Fab Integration, Device, Fab modules, Production, Metrology, and Defect team members to identify root cause of yield/performance issues and implement mitigation plan in defined timeline to meet committed Si delivery during early lots and yield/performance targets and to support fast paced yield ramp-up in high-volume manufacturing phases.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related STEM field
  • 7+ years' experience in advanced node semiconductor industry in FEOL and/or BEOL Process Integration
  • 7+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing with hands-on ownership of NPI / technology or product ramp in a foundry or IDM environment
  • 5+ years of: Strong background in process integration, device engineering, yield engineering, or manufacturing, including advanced technology nodes
  • 5+ years of: Strong project management skills with ability to manage timelines, risks, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Science major
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams (FEOL/BEOL, device, yield, defect reduction, manufacturing, test) to resolve complex technical issues
  • Understanding and collaboration experience with module processes including lithography, dry etch, wet etch, CMP, thin films and metrology
  • Experience in project/program management and advanced problem solving

What the JD emphasized

  • Critical Responsibility will be for identifying recurring patterns and learnings from customer engagements, abstracting these into foundry standards, systemising, automating and proliferating them across other technologies and customers.
