The FP&A Sr. Manager will partner with R&D and G&A leadership to build scalable planning processes and metrics infrastructure. Responsibilities include leading annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, developing operating models, driving the monthly close process, providing financial analysis for headcount and investments, and tracking SaaS KPIs. The role requires strong analytical and financial modeling skills, SQL/AI tooling experience, and familiarity with modern AI tools for analysis and automation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for R&D and G&A end-to-end, partnering with department heads to build bottoms-up plans grounded in operational reality.
  2. Serve as the trusted finance partner for R&D and G&A leaders, connecting day-to-day operational data to strategic priorities.
  3. Own and continuously improve Island’s FP&A processes, tools, and reporting frameworks, with a bias toward automation and scale.
  4. Develop a strong working understanding of core SaaS KPIs (ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, Rule of 40, payback) to effectively support planning and decision-making.
  5. Provide proactive financial analysis to support decisions on headcount, vendor spend, tooling investments, and function-level resource allocation.

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience with end-to-end ownership of the planning cycle, at least 2 years in a manager or senior IC role.
  • Strong analytical and business partnering skillset.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-moving environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is the norm.
  • Expert-level financial modeling skills.
  • SQL/AI tooling experience and deep experience working with large data-sets
  • Proven track record of translating complex financial data into clear, executive-level narratives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite, Salesforce, Snowflake or equivalent ERP/CRM systems.

Nice to have

  • MBA a plus.
  • Deep fluency in SaaS business models and the metrics that drive them (ARR, churn, NRR, CAC, payback periods, unit economics).
  • Experience partnering directly with R&D and/or G&A functions.
  • Cybersecurity, enterprise software, or infrastructure SaaS background.
  • Familiarity with FP&A platforms (e.g., Pigment, Adaptive Insights, Planful) and/or exposure to emerging tools.
  • Proficiency with modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance analysis, automation, and decision support.
