This role is for a Franchise Lead in the Oncology team at Merck, focusing on bringing medicines to customers worldwide. Responsibilities include market analysis, developing and implementing digital campaigns, supporting sales teams, forecasting sales, managing budgets, and leading/coaching the sales team. The role requires a university degree, leadership experience, and knowledge of the Austrian healthcare system and oncology. It is a product-focused role within the healthcare domain, not directly AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Analysis of local market and identification of commercial opportunities based on market research and customer insights
  2. Participation at regional brand meetings, understanding and translating the global product strategy into local priorities and the integrated business plan
  3. Development, Implementation and tracking of digital campaigns, initiatives and materials directed at different internal and external stakeholders
  4. Making sure sales teams understand the strategic imperatives and supporting them with necessary trainings, tools, and materials
  5. Field visits on average 2 days a week including double visits with sales team collecting feedback on current programs and gaining customer insights, individual visit with relevant stakeholders aimed at co-developing materials or implementing specific programs

Skills

Required

  • University Degree in business or life sciences from accredited university
  • Leadership & People Management Experience
  • Oncology knowledge & networks to local customers
  • Strong understanding of Austrian healthcare system
  • Experience in Sales Management and Marketing and/or Account Management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral in German and English)
  • Outstanding negotiation and project management skills
  • Excellent budget management competency
  • Excellent power point and excel skills, other project management and digital effectiveness tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High level of analytical skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in the field of GU cancer
  • Sales Representative certification
