Canva is seeking a Frontend Engineer to join their Product Enablement team, focusing on building and maintaining frontend experiences for generative AI features in China. The role involves designing user interfaces, integrating with AI services, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, localized AI-powered products. While the core role is frontend engineering, it directly supports the integration and delivery of AI products to users.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and maintain reliable, scalable frontend features that support Canva’s generative AI experiences in China.
  2. Design and implement user-facing interfaces, components, and frontend architecture for AI-powered product capabilities.
  3. Integrate frontend systems with global and local AI services, model providers, and supporting infrastructure.
  4. Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver useful and high-quality AI experiences.
  5. Contribute to the design and implementation of frontend systems that comply with privacy and security standards across different markets.

Skills

Required

  • JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks such as React or Next.js
  • Experience building complex user-facing interfaces with attention to UX, accessibility, and responsive design.
  • Strong proficiency in SSR (Server-Side Rendering), e.g., Next.js, or similar modern frontend frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and SEO best practices.
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have

  • Experience with A/B testing tools and experiment-driven development
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP), CI/CD pipelines, or AI model integrations
  • Interest in or exposure to generative AI, LLMs, AI product integrations, or similar domains such as machine learning platforms.
