Functional Safety Engineer

This role focuses on functional safety engineering for embedded software in automotive systems, ensuring compliance with ISO26262 standards. Responsibilities include developing safety work products, creating requirements, modeling, planning and executing design verification, and collaborating with software teams. Testing involves SIL, HIL, and vehicle-level environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and refine functional safety work products for safety design, implementation, and validation of software for ensuring proper feature-level safety and performance.
  2. Create concept, logical and technical level requirements in support of Features and Platform Systems, including diagnostic requirements as applicable.
  3. Plan and execute design verification plans to ensure proper response for Functional and Technical requirements.
  4. Support and coordinate root-cause analysis with internal and external suppliers.
  5. Work in collaboration with Software Teams to implement and validate requirements in support of functional safety deliverables.

  • ISO26262 safety standards
  • ATI Vision and CANalyzer
  • Failure Mode Avoidance (FMEA)
  • Translating system cascaded requirements into safety technical requirements
  • Requirements supporting EARS Format, having traceability to Safety Goals, and derive Technical Safety Requirements with corresponding Test Case

What the JD emphasized

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
