What you'd actually do

  1. Analyzes client's financial performance by comparing it to past performance, projections, and industry standards
  2. Reviews financial statements, assesses the client's compliance with financial covenants, and renews risk ratings, while recommending changes as warranted
  3. Assists in the underwriting, credit risk analysis, negotiation, and closing of new transactions or existing transactions, while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
  4. Evaluates transaction and relationship risk-adjusted profitability to facilitate the allocation of capital
  5. Builds projection models for the client (as needed) based on historical performance, industry forecasts, and other due diligence findings

Skills

Required

  • commercial and/or corporate banking credit experience
  • underwriting, credit risk analysis, negotiation, and closing of new transactions or existing transactions
  • commercial credit analysis, financial modeling, traded products and underwriting experience
  • proficient Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point skills

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or another related field
  • Formal credit training or related certifications
  • Strong foundation in finance and accounting with experience building three statement and/or cash flow financial models
