Seeking a GCP Cloud Engineer to manage and improve Ford's global infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform, on-premises data centers, and distributed locations. The role involves hands-on design, development, and maintenance of cloud-native infrastructure, including hosting, computing, databases, and networks. Responsibilities include defining infrastructure patterns, working with OpenShift/GKE, designing secure and scalable GCP infrastructure, collaborating with development teams, and optimizing performance. Experience with scripting, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code is required. The role also involves building big data solutions and ensuring security and compliance within the GCP environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. You will work with Technology and Software Platform teams to provide solutions for cloud infrastructure across the Ford Enterprise, including hosting, computing, databases, and networks.
  2. Define, analyze, assemble, and integrate components to deliver infrastructure patterns for the business, including consideration for platforms, software, availability, scalability, and reliability.
  3. Design, build, and maintain GCP infrastructure to support our applications and services with high performance, scalable and secure cloud native applications on GCP.
  4. Develop, advise and document GCP infrastructure and deployment processes along with experience on REST API, Agile tools, DevOps, Source control and versioning tools (Git, JIRA) and build CI/CD pipelines using CI/CD methodologies leveraging Jenkins, containers, Kubernetes etc.
  5. Build big data solutions, ensure the guardrails, security and compliance of our GCP environment, Strong knowledge of Cloud security standards and principles including Identity and Access management.
