General Distribution Supervisor

This role leads the analysis and development of logistics plans for production, distribution, and inventory. Responsibilities include carrier selection, contract negotiations, continuous improvement of logistics processes, and managing cost estimates and forecasts for transportation modes. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and knowledge of SAP and Lean methodologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Accountable for all carrier selection and renewals. Plays key role in contract negotiations and interfacing with selected carriers necessary to maintain expected levels of service.
  2. Inspires continuous improvement of logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.
  3. Improving logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.
  4. Owns the development and maintainence cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models. Tracking costs and savings for all transportation modes.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree related to a Supply Chain field of choice
  • English (Intermediate)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational and logistical issues efficiently.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure, considering multiple variables and scenarios.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (such as Lean, Six Sigma or similar) to optimize distribution processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced handling of the Office
  • Ability to interpret operational data, key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports that support decision-making.
  • Ability to detect patterns, trends and opportunities for improvement in distribution processes.
  • Knowledge of analysis tools such as Excel from intermediate to advanced
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, suppliers, carriers, and customers.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and commitment.
  • Knowledge of effective communication techniques, conflict management and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of SAP related to materials management
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, time management, and priority-based decision-making.
  • Ability to effectively escalate and manage time across different levels of the organization
