Boeing is seeking a General Machinist to perform precise machining operations, interpret technical documents, and ensure quality standards. The role involves operating and programming NC and CNC machines, using precision measuring instruments, and adhering to safety protocols in an industrial manufacturing environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with and interpret prints, sketches, diagrams, specifications, verbal information, handbook formulas, job layouts, etc., and use shop mathematics including trigonometry and geometry.
  2. Perform layout necessary to accomplish own work assignment.
  3. Perform assembly work and surface finishing as required.
  4. Use and operate all precision measuring instruments and various methods necessary to complete and check own work assignment. Provide part quality information and statistics as required.
  5. Select proper tools, fixtures, machine attachments, equipment, etc., necessary to complete work assignment.

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • 2+ years of experience using basic math
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift
  • Ability to read blueprints with understanding of Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • 2+ years of experience using precision measuring tools and equipment
  • 2+ years of experience setting up and operating Manual and/or CNC machines
  • 1+ years of machining experience using CAD/CAM software

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of CAD/CAM programming experience
  • 2+ years of experience operating 3, 4, or 5 axis NC/CNC machine tools
