This role is for a General Manufacturing Manager at Northrop Grumman, focusing on production and manufacturing operations for advanced electronics, radar, and communication systems within defense capabilities. The manager will oversee test technicians, ensure quality products are delivered on time and within budget, and promote a lean manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include technical guidance, process development, capacity planning, manpower planning, and talent development. A Bachelor's degree with relevant experience or equivalent experience is required, along with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide leadership direction in areas such as: Technical Guidance, Process Development, Continuous Improvement, Capacity Planning, Capital & Facility Planning, Cost/ Benefit Analysis, Manpower Planning, Staffing, ISO9001and all auditable processes.
  2. Provide direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies.
  3. Drive employee efficiency.
  4. Meet product cost and schedule targets.
  5. Manage to department budget.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment; will also consider a minimum of 9 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
  • At least one year of experience managing or leading people or projects
  • Experience in MS Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level Security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice to have

  • Current Secret clearance
  • Experience as an electrical or test engineer
  • Experience managing manufacturing assembly and test
  • Experience with SAP or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system for business
  • Prior program, project and/or people management, cross-organizational, process improvement experience
  • Lean or Green Belt certified
