General Program Manager (l5) - Developer Enablement

Netflix is seeking a General Program Manager (L5) to lead Developer Education and Enablement, focusing on enhancing how engineers learn, ship, and leverage AI in their daily work. The role involves designing and delivering global learning programs, managing technical training and documentation, and creating analytics to measure developer productivity. The ideal candidate will have experience with GenAI tools and a track record of enabling teams to create training content.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and deliver customized onboarding programs and continuing education experiences through engaging formats tailored for various engineering personas.
  2. Manage and prioritize requests for new and updated technical training and documentation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and learning needs.
  3. Guide content creation alongside stakeholders using a train-the-trainer model, enabling domain teams to scale their own educational efforts.
  4. Create insightful dashboards and performance metrics from raw data to measure and iterate on the effectiveness of onboarding programs, training sessions, and documentation quality.
  5. Partner with internal and external program managers, instructional designers, technical writers, SMEs, and facilitators for program execution.

Skills

Required

  • Confidence in public speaking, with experience delivering technical content to diverse audiences, including seasoned engineers and people leaders.
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Copilot) and ability to model effective AI-assisted workflows for technical audiences.
  • Ability to derive and apply data insights (support ticket analysis, learning outcomes, dashboards) to guide decisions
  • Track record of enabling and empowering teams/SMEs to create their own training content (e.g. train-the-trainer, hub-spoke models).
  • Proficiency in creating and editing engaging documentation, with strong opinions on documentation strategy, sustainability, and information architecture.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large volume and variety of requests while maintaining focus on high-impact, strategic initiatives.
  • Experience designing blended learning formats (live, hybrid, async, self-paced)
  • Experience leading large-scale initiatives end to end, and influencing stakeholders up, down, and across the organization

Nice to have

  • Deep GenAI fluency and enthusiasm for AI-powered productivity tools
  • Strong technical understanding and comfort collaborating closely with engineers
  • Experience optimizing global or remote training across multiple time zones
  • Familiarity with LMS or similar learning platforms
  • Experience balancing central standards with local team autonomy in training and documentation
  • Track record of running technical education or community events (internal conferences, tech talks, hackathons)
  • Clear perspective on inclusive learning design for a diverse, global workforce
  • Experience driving cultural or process change in engineering organizations
  • Ability to benchmark tools (AI and otherwise) against internal developer use cases and make evidence-based recommendations
