Global Commodity Manager – Interconnects and Cables

NVIDIA is seeking a Global Commodity Manager to lead strategic sourcing and commodity management for Interconnects and Cables within their Boards and Systems Supply Chain. This role involves developing global sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring supply assurance, and mitigating risks. The candidate will work closely with engineering teams on new product introductions (NPI) and capacity planning, aiming for cost reduction, lead-time improvement, and supply resiliency. What you'd actually do

  1. Build cross-functional alignment with Hardware, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering to identify commodity sourcing strategies to enable NVIDIA business segment requirements for Boards and System Supply Chain.
  2. Develop and manage supplier relationships and conduct supplier business reviews that improve suppliers value, performance, and account investments through aligned roadmaps
  3. Negotiate Master Service Agreements, cost reduction strategies, and maintain lead-time, cost systems, and split of business decisions
  4. Deliver a supplier risk management system, BOM risk reduction solutions, materials risk mitigation strategies, and maintaining data integrity to ensure supply resiliency
  5. Rationalize and reduce the number of components and suppliers to capture synergies and reduce risk due to demand fluctuation

Skills

Required

  • BS in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in global commodity management
  • proven track record in managing connector, cable, and optics Supply Base
  • Deep understanding of interconnector and cable technologies, market, manufacturing process, cost drivers and supply landscape
  • Strong analytical skills such as cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection, and supply/demand analysis
  • Ability to incorporate AI tools to enhance supply chain and sourcing analysis, data integrity, and decision making
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills in supplier management and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills dealing with supply base executives
  • High degree of integrity, initiative, and attention to detail in a collaborative environment

  • Technical experience to compliment strong program management skills is preferred
