Global Commodity Manager – Optics

NVIDIA is seeking a Global Commodity Manager to lead strategic sourcing and commodity management for Optical and Copackaged Optics technologies. This role involves developing and executing global sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring supply chain resilience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commodity management, a deep understanding of optical technologies, and strong analytical and negotiation skills. While the role may utilize AI tools for analysis, it does not involve building or shipping AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build cross-functional alignment with Networking, Hardware, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering to identify commodity sourcing strategies to enable NVIDIA business segment requirements for Boards and System Supply Chain.
  2. Develop and manage supplier relationships and conduct supplier business reviews that improve suppliers value, performance, and account investments through aligned roadmaps
  3. Negotiate Master Service Agreements, cost reduction strategies, and maintain lead-time, cost systems, and split of business decisions
  4. Deliver a supplier risk management system, BOM risk reduction solutions, materials risk mitigation strategies, and maintaining data integrity to ensure supply resiliency
  5. Rationalize and optimize the number of components and suppliers to capture synergies and reduce risk due to demand fluctuation

Skills

Required

  • BS in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years' experience in global commodity management
  • Strong analytical skills such as cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection, and supply/demand analysis
  • Ability to incorporate AI tools to improve supply chain and sourcing analysis, data integrity, and decision making
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills in supplier management and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills dealing with supply base executives

  • MBA Preferred
  • Technical experience to compliment strong program management skills is preferred
