Global Lead, Airports & Travel Strategy

Uber Uber · Consumer · New York, NY +2 · Operations

This role is a Global Lead for Airports & Travel Strategy at Uber, focusing on transforming the platform into an indispensable travel companion. The role involves aligning various stakeholders (Operations, Product, BD, Marketing, Finance, Policy) to own the traveler's entire experience in an 'away' city. A key responsibility is identifying high-impact opportunities to use Gen AI to augment or automate team tasks and unlock new capabilities at scale. The role requires strong strategic acumen, analytical skills, business judgment, and exceptional communication abilities. It is described as an 'IC+' leadership role with a small team, including AI agents.

What you'd actually do

  1. Articulating, and continuously improving, a cohesive strategy with a very clear ‘where to play and how to win’ that is backed by killer insights. Driving alignment across functions to make sure everyone is bought in, and communicating this broadly so we run in the same direction.
  2. Surfacing and responding to the most important questions we need to answer/ choices we need to make as a team. With a mix of quantitative and qualitative work, collaborative cross functional engagement,, as well as a lot of commercial acumen and instinct, recommend the choices we should make.
  3. Collating quantitative and qualitative insights from consumer, earners and airports, and packaging these into powerful insights that help us make smart choices. Collating industry and competitive information into well packaged formats to circulate amongst relevant stakeholders. Minimize the effort for others to stay on top of what’s happening in our industry.
  4. Identify high impact opportunities to use Gen AI to augment, or take over, work that our team (and closely related teams eg partner managers) needs to do. Think about how Gen AI unlocks new capabilities that were previously too hard to manage at scale (eg growth for long tail airports).
  5. Build comprehensive business models to project growth and investment requirements, ROI, and time horizons for core business growth and new strategic bets.
