This role is for a Credit Research Analyst at JPMorgan Chase. The analyst will be responsible for monitoring assigned sectors and issuers, analyzing financial statements, building financial models, and producing research notes on risk, valuation, and relative value. The role requires strong accounting and corporate finance skills, advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely. While AI-enabled tools are mentioned as a plus for accelerating analysis, the core function of the role is not AI/ML development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own day-to-day monitoring of assigned sectors and issuers, staying on top of catalysts, flows, and fundamentals
  2. Break down earnings releases, regulatory filings, and disclosures and translate takeaways into a clear credit view
  3. Assess news, macro developments, and industry trends for implications to spreads, ratings, and capital structures
  4. Build, maintain, and enhance financial statement models and key credit / coverage metrics
  5. Perform valuation and relative value analysis across issuers, curves, and structures

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years in research, investment banking, or another rigorous analytical role
  • Strong accounting and corporate finance skills
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Strong writing and presentation skills

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with Bloomberg
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word and PowerPoint)
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 (or ability/willingness to obtain)
  • AI-enabled tools to accelerate analysis
