This role is for an Analyst in Credit Strategy at JPMorgan Chase's Global Research Center in Mumbai. The position involves using quantitative and econometric techniques, managing large datasets, analyzing macroeconomic data, and contributing to publications and presentations to support decision-making. The role requires strong analytical, financial modeling, and coding skills (Python), with experience in advanced econometric/statistical techniques, machine learning, or NLP being a plus. The primary focus is on credit strategy research within the fintech domain.

What you'd actually do

  1. Working end to end on multiple time sensitive deliverables which include day-to-day monitoring of US High Yield-relevant sectors/issuers and market developments, staying on top of catalysts, flows, technicals, and fundamentals.
  2. Conducting detailed analyses and deep-dive research of key market trends which include assessing news, macro developments, and industry trends for implications to spreads, ratings, and capital structures.
  3. Build and maintain financial models and key credit/coverage metrics; use outputs to support strategy discussion on risk, valuation, and relative value.
  4. Write concise, client-ready research notes and contribute to broader thematic/sector pieces with timely market commentary.
  5. Present findings clearly (written and verbal) and support market and positioning views and perspectives in internal debates and client-facing conversations under time pressure.

Skills

Required

  • 1-3 years in Research, Banking, or another rigorous analytical role
  • Strong quantitative/econometric foundation (e.g., multiple regression) and comfort working with macro/market data
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Coding skills to manipulate data and perform statistical analysis using tools such as Python (plus Eviews/VBA where relevant)
  • Strong writing and presentation skills; clear, concise communication under time pressure
  • Strong organization, prioritization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a deadline-driven team
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg and familiarity with common financial market data sources/conventions (e.g., Bloomberg/Haver/CEIC)
  • Master’s degree or above in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field from reputed institutions
