Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. As a Solutions Architect on the Automotive & Manufacturing team, you will partner with some of the world's largest automotive suppliers to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address critical business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
You will serve as a trusted customer advocate and strategic advisor to companies navigating complex digital transformation journeys, from modernizing legacy systems and migrating workloads to implementing advanced AI capabilities. The ideal candidate is a T-shaped generalist: deep technical expertise in at least one domain, broad competence across the cloud landscape, strong proficiency in generative AI and agentic AI, and the ability to speak the language of the automotive industry. You understand manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, connected vehicle architectures, and the engineering culture of tier-one suppliers.
In collaboration with account managers, technology specialists, and industry teams, you will help shape and execute strategies to build mind share and broad use of AWS within your defined customer set. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

You are not a narrow AI specialist; you integrate AI into broader cloud architectures that solve real business problems end to end.
Key job responsibilities
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, understanding their business needs and technology challenges to architect customized, end-to-end solutions spanning cloud infrastructure, data, and AI
Lead discussions to shape a customer's long-term technology and AI strategy, guiding them on trade-offs between short-term fixes and extensible, scalable architectures
Design generative AI and cloud-native architectures that orchestrate complex workflows across enterprise systems, leveraging AWS services
Credibly advise senior technical and executive stakeholders on architectural decisions, risks, and long-term strategy, translating complex technical concepts into business language that demonstrates clear value
Proactively identify opportunities to accelerate implementation through reusable components, parallel workstreams, and proven design patterns
Share knowledge by developing technical content (sample code, blog posts, presentations, workshops, reference architectures) to exemplify best practices and educate customers
Lead thought leadership initiatives by evangelizing AWS capabilities through public speaking at industry events (re:Invent, AWS Summit, automotive conferences) and publishing technical content
Drive product innovation by gathering customer feedback, translating needs into clear requirements, and partnering with product and engineering teams throughout development
Resolve complex technical problems through root cause analysis, both for customers and internally
Contribute to strategic planning, recruit and develop talent, build team consensus, and mentor more junior solutions architects
Stay current with the latest advancements in AWS services, generative AI research, and automotive industry trends to recommend optimal technology stacks

Review customer requirements and technical challenges, focusing on opportunities to implement solutions architectures that transform business outcomes, including AI-powered use cases
Develop proof-of-concepts that demonstrate how cloud and AI solutions can improve business processes in manufacturing, supply chain, and connected vehicle domains
Influence service team leadership and product marketing on the future needs of automotive customers, prioritizing roadmap features and GTM messaging
Dedicate time to continuous learning about the latest advancements in AWS service capabilities and automotive industry developments
Participate in knowledge sharing activities with colleagues, creating field enablement materials to help other SAs understand how to integrate cloud and AI solutions into customer architectures

The Automotive & Manufacturing Solutions Architecture team is dedicated to accelerating AWS cloud adoption across strategic automotive and manufacturing accounts. Our mission is to drive tangible business value through focused execution on strategic projects, while enabling scale by up-skilling broader field teams. We work at the intersection of technology and industry-specific transformation, partnering closely with account teams, technology specialists, and industry specialist teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
- Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
- Experience solving problems with technology in the Automotive & Manufacturing industries
- Experience working with or evaluating AI systems
- Experience with enterprise architecture including virtualization technologies and distributed architecture
