Figure AI is seeking a Mechanical Global Supply Manager to lead the global sourcing strategy for mechanically complex parts for humanoid robots. This role is responsible for supplier selection, cost, capacity, quality, and risk management throughout the product lifecycle, from prototypes to mass production. The manager will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely and reliable delivery of components, aiming to build robots faster, cheaper, and more reliably.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute sourcing strategies for mechanical components including CNC-machined parts, die castings, sheet metal, injection-molded plastics, bearings, fasteners, and electromechanical assemblies.
  2. Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers capable of supporting rapid iteration and production ramps.
  3. Lead RFQs, cost modeling, and supplier negotiations across global regions.
  4. Drive supplier footprint decisions aligned with cost, capacity, and geopolitical risk.
  5. Own should-cost models and drive costs down through design collaboration, process optimization, and commercial negotiations.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 7+ years of global sourcing or supply chain experience for mechanical hardware
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining, casting, injection molding, and assembly processes
  • Experience supporting NPI and scaling production in hardware-focused companies
  • Proven ability to negotiate cost, capacity, and tooling with global suppliers

Nice to have

  • Experience in robotics, EV, automotive, or high-volume electromechanical products
  • Sourcing experience across Asia, North America, and Europe
  • Comfortable working directly with drawings, BOMs, and cost breakdowns
