Gnc Engineer: Modeling Sim. & Analysis – Level 2 or 3 (chandler)

Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman · Aerospace · Chandler, AZ +1 · Systems/Architecture/Test

This role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing flight software algorithms for guidance, navigation, and control functions, as well as simulation software for testing and verification of launch and target vehicles. It involves mathematical processing of data and formulation of equations for trajectory and control systems within the aerospace and defense sector.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and implement flight software algorithms to support guidance, navigation, and control functions for the target or launch vehicle
  2. Design, develop, and implement simulation software to test and verify mission requirements for the vehicle
  3. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality
  4. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space
  5. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for launch vehicles and/or spacecraft
