Gnc Engineer, Space

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA +3 · AFS : Space Engineering : GNC & Simulation Engineering

The GNC Engineer will work on the design of satellite GNC subsystems, including hardware sensors, actuators, orbit mechanics, navigation algorithms, flight software, and integration. The role involves algorithm design, modeling, simulation, and analysis for various spacecraft missions. Key responsibilities include developing modern, software-defined approaches to autonomous spacecraft operations, creating test plans, and defining automated fault detection and responses. The role supports ongoing, funded programs for building and fielding resilient, software-defined spacecraft systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work spacecraft GNC software and hardware subsystems for various spacecraft efforts in all orbital regimes and work closely with bus providers for successful implementation
  2. Develop modern, software-defined approaches to autonomous spacecraft operations with maneuvering capabilities to successfully accomplish mission objectives
  3. Develop appropriate test plans and procedures to validate the GNC system during ground checkout, on-orbit commissioning and operations
  4. Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
  5. Coordinate with end-users, other operators and customers to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints.
