What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute government affairs strategies that advance Microsoft's policy, commercial and reputational priorities in Australia.
  2. Build and maintain trusted relationships with government stakeholders, industry associations and civil society partners.
  3. Provide timely, concise and actionable advice to senior leaders on political, legislative and regulatory developments.
  4. Lead policy analysis and advocacy across key issues including AI, cybersecurity, data centres, digital resilience, online safety, regulatory issues and digital government.
  5. Coordinate cross functional collaboration across local and regional teams to ensure aligned policy positions and stakeholder engagement.

Skills

Required

  • Experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory engagement, corporate affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience working with government, technology, consulting, regulated industries, or public sector organizations.
  • Experience briefing executives, supporting senior stakeholder engagement, and contributing to policy advocacy or submissions.

Nice to have

  • Experience in technology policy, AI, cyber security, digital infrastructure, regulatory issues, or the digital economy
