Government Relations Director – Middle East Region

This role is for a Government Relations Director focused on the Middle East region for Northrop Grumman, a defense contractor. The position requires extensive knowledge of Middle East political systems, military requirements, and stakeholder relationships within the defense and aerospace sectors. The primary responsibilities involve building and maintaining relationships with US forces, CENTCOM, and other governmental and military entities in the region to support business growth and strategy.

What you'd actually do

  1. Primary POC in the region with all US forces, CENTCOM and MilGroups in the ME region
  2. Coordinate, integrate, and synchronize corporate and sector customer engagements and campaign strategies, and facilitate the development of new business opportunities within customer markets.
  3. Support corporate and sector teams in the design, construction, and execution of customer analysis plans, strategic customer approach plans, and customer contact plans.
  4. Provide inputs for the development of company priority programs.
  5. Maintain awareness of significant policy, program, budget, and legislative initiatives effecting corporate goals.

Skills

Required

  • Completed Masters degree in relevant fields and/or equivalent qualifications within the armed forces
  • Current US Government Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • The selected candidate will be required to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP/SAR) clearance
  • Excellent understanding of military and political relations with a strong focus on the defence and/or military aerospace sectors, with an extensive network.
  • Must have a complete cultural understanding for working with an American contractor and bridging the gap with local business acquisition, negotiation and contract execution.
  • A high level of confidence, integrity, and a hands-on approach to problem solving as well as a professional executive presence for interacting with and influencing DoD decision makers, senior management, and executives internal and external to the company.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to expand and deepen partnerships with the Middle East.
  • Experience with DoD budget, acquisition, and requirements processes.
