Northrop Grumman is seeking a Government Relations Director to engage with senior Intelligence Community and/or Space Force officials regarding space-based capabilities. The role involves establishing and maintaining customer relationships, understanding US Government needs, and coordinating high-level engagements. Responsibilities include shaping corporate and sector customer engagements, crafting campaign strategies, supporting business development, designing customer analysis and engagement plans, and providing input for company priority programs. The role requires maintaining awareness of policy, program, budget, and legislative initiatives. A Bachelor's degree with at least 14 years of relevant experience, a current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance, and the ability to obtain a SAP/SAR clearance are required. Experience with IC/DoW budget, acquisition, and requirements processes, strategic thinking, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coordinate, integrate, and help shape corporate and sector customer engagements.
  2. Help craft campaign strategies and facilitate, in close cooperation with sector business development experts, new business opportunities across Northrop’s space portfolio and with a wide range of executive branch customers.
  3. Support corporate and sector teams in the design, construction, and execution of customer analysis plans and customer engagement plans.
  4. Provide input for the development of company priority programs.
  5. Maintain awareness of significant policy, program, budget, and legislative initiatives affecting corporate goals.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 14 yrs of relevant experience; Master's and at least 12 yrs, along with significant and recent Intelligence Community and/or Space Force acquisition or operational experience.
  • Current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance; maintaining the required security clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
  • The selected candidate will be required to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP/SAR) clearance within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company, and also by customer and/or program requirements; maintaining a SAP/SAR clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
  • The ability to analyze a broad range of issues and exercise strategic thinking to best influence IC and/or DoW civilian leadership and military decision-makers.
  • A high level of confidence, integrity, and a hands-on approach to problem solving as well as a professional executive presence for interacting with and influencing IC and/or DoW decision makers, senior management, and executives internal and external to the company.
  • Some experience with IC and/or DoW budget, acquisition, and requirements processes.
  • Strong judgment, decision-making skills, flexibility, agility, and political acumen.
  • Unwavering commitment and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and verbal and written communications skills, as well as project management, analytical planning, presentation, and human relations skills.
