Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of aircrew and maintenance training devices for military fighter aircraft. This role involves analyzing requirements, creating hardware designs, defining interfaces, and troubleshooting integration issues.

What you'd actually do

  1. Analyze system requirements
  2. Translate system requirements in detail part, assembly, and installation drawings
  3. Create documentation to capture system interface definition
  4. Test and validate hardware to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  5. Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years' experience in mechanical systems design and analysis
  • 3+ years’ experience supporting cross-functional or cross-organizational teams within engineering and/or test

Nice to have

  • Experience working within an agile development team
  • Experience working in Siemens NX modeling software or other similar design tools
  • Experience with aviation hardware, particularly crew systems components
  • Experience with data analysis of system data
  • Experience with test driven development
