Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) Sustainment & Repair/Modification Maintenance Technician

Boeing Global Services is currently looking for an Experienced Product Repair/Modification Technician(Component Repair) to join their team in Fort Greely, AK or Vandenberg SFB, CA. This position will support the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) program. The GMD system is operationally capable to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
- Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
- Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
- Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
- Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
- Oversees training.
- Works under general direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of 1 year experience with assembling, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical components and systems
- Able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time domestically for offsite support and offsite training.
- Able and willing to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, travel in silo basket (maximum load capacity of 275lbs).
- Willing and Able to work in confined spaces
- Lift loads approximately 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Previous experience working on the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) system a plus
- Experience working with ordnance is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate a Forklift, truck mounted crane, and other associated equipment a plus
- Valid commercial driver’s license a plus
- Familiarity with any of the following processes: Tool Control, Hazmat Control, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection Programs, & ESD Controls.
