Seeking a Ground MILSATCOM Systems Engineer for Boeing Defense, Space and Security to lead development of satellite ground mission planning systems. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, designing interfaces, supporting architecture, integration, testing, and verification in an agile environment. Requires a Top Secret Security Clearance and 5+ years of engineering experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  2. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  3. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  4. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  5. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • willing to travel domestically

Nice to have

  • Lead, Level 4
  • 9+ years of engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with Agile and Model Based Engineering processes
  • Possess basic orbital dynamics
  • Experience with RF communications, satellite links, transponder loading, and military communication architectures
  • Experience with Satellite Bus and Payload Resource Management
  • System Familiarity: Operational knowledge of key MILSATCOM systems
