This role is for a Ground Support Equipment Technician at Boeing Defence United Kingdom Limited, responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing mechanical and electrical ground support equipment essential for Apache helicopter operations. Key responsibilities include routine and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, inspections, testing, calibration, and documentation adherence.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform routine and reactive maintenance on GSE assets including hydraulic rigs, power units, lifting equipment, and towing vehicles.
  2. Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  3. Conduct inspections, testing, and calibration of equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  4. Maintain accurate service records and documentation in line with MOD and BDUK standards.
  5. Support flight line operations by ensuring timely availability and reliability of equipment.

Skills

Required

  • Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to have

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing ground support equipment or similar assets
  • Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with MOD maintenance procedures and documentation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Full UK driving licence
  • HGV or forklift licence desirable
