Ground Test Engineer (gte)

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Ground Test Engineer (GTE) to plan and schedule test events, develop test procedures with Responsible Engineers and Systems Test Engineers, perform test article operations on and off an active flight line, and maintain a test point data base. The role involves coordinating with support organizations, acting as a test conductor, providing engineering support for maintenance and repairs, and potentially supporting shift work and travel.

What you'd actually do

  1. plan and schedule test events
  2. work with Responsible Engineers (RE) and Systems Test Engineers (STE) to develop test procedures
  3. perform test article operations – both on and off an active flight line
  4. maintain a test point data base
  5. Provide support for post-test data processing and analysis as required to support test objectives

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • active DoD Secret clearance
  • background investigation completed within the last 5 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation
  • ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR)

Nice to have

  • Experience as a Test Engineer, Test Conductor/Director that includes test planning, execution and operations
  • Experience in a Production Test environment
  • Experience in a military aircraft maintenance environment
  • Significant time spent on an operational flight line
  • FAA Airman certification (A&P, Flight Engineer, Pilot)
  • Active Program clearance
  • Active Top Secret clearance
