Hardware Application Engineer – High-speed Io and Memory

NVIDIA NVIDIA · Semiconductors · Santa Clara, CA

This role focuses on hardware application engineering for high-speed IO and memory interfaces in next-generation platforms, involving system-level design, validation, tuning, and partner support. It requires expertise in various interfaces like USB, PCIe, display, and memory, along with strong communication and troubleshooting skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the primary technical interface with OEM and SoC design team for all high-speed IOs system design requirements, specifications and validation for new platforms.
  2. Own LPDDR5X memory support, including initial tuning, validation process, failure analysis, debugging, and system parametric optimization for OEM platforms.
  3. Own all system-level support for high-speed IO: USB-C/USB4, PCIe, eDP, DP, HDMI, WiFi, Audio, Camera interfaces and USB-C charging across multiple platforms.
  4. Lead IO design reviews, tuning and optimization, and debugging for partners; provide expert-level guidance on board bring-up, tuning, and risk mitigation.
  5. Drive procedure development and hands-on validation for IO signal integrity, compliance, and interoperability (USB4, PCIe Gen4/Gen5, HDMI 2.x, DP, WiFi 6/7, etc.).
