Hardware Asset Management Intern

This internship focuses on hardware asset management within Cloudflare's IT department. The intern will lead an audit to ensure IT asset inventory accuracy and compliance, track the lifecycle of IT equipment, and identify opportunities to automate processes between systems. The key deliverable is a new automated process flow for the chain of custody of assets. The role requires organizational and analytical skills, basic knowledge of API integration, and the ability to leverage AI coding tools for workflow development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the effort to clear up an asset logistics audit, primarily focused on reconciling inventory and ensuring accuracy for all IT hardware.
  2. Track and manage the lifecycle of IT equipment, from deployment and end-user assignment to retirement, ensuring accurate records in the asset management system.
  3. Assess the end-to-end flow and find areas to automate the processes between systems.
  4. By the end of your internship, the expected deliverable will be a new process flow that ensures a complete chain of custody of assets from point of order to point of retirement through our systems in an automated fashion.

Skills

Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree or program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant technical field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail for inventory management and auditing tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of API integration frameworks and how to leverage AI coding tools in order to develop specifications for automated workflows.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to provide patient and effective support to employees.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum 12-week summer internship.
  • In the office at least 3 days a week in the Austin office.
